electric & upright bass lessons
Lessons are typically one hour and are held as one-on-one sessions customized to each student’s skill level and goals. Whether you’re a passionate beginner inspired to learn bass for the first time, an experienced musician new to the instrument, or a seasoned player looking for a new perspective, Nathan can customize sessions to suit your individual needs.
Nathan is excited to teach and mentor any teens and adults interested in leveling up their technique, increasing their music theory knowledge, preparing for gigs or performances, expanding their repertoire, or even picking up a bass as a new skill or hobby.
Depending on your goals, during sessions you can expect to work on:
Crafting more exciting and dynamic bass lines
Music theory & ear training
Internalized feel for rhythm & groove
Improving technique
Playing bass for groups and bands
Improvisation

Lessons can be conducted in person at Nathan’s home studio in Burbank, CA, virtually via Zoom, or at your home/location of preference in the Greater Los Angeles area (additional commute fees may apply).

“Working with Nathan to expand my bass playing has been very fun and fruitful. His knowledge of music and impressive practical experience has helped me progress and open up new avenues. We have covered groove, harmony, technique, arranging and how to improve in each of those categories. A lesson with him is like a very interactive master class. No matter what direction in music you want to go, Nathan can probably help you.”
